Who we are

Gro-Star is responsible for information you provide through this website. You can contact Suzi Cahill at suzi@gro-star.com about this policy or your personal data.

What we collect and why

When you apply for a Business Makeover, we collect your name, business and contact details, website and social links you provide, your answers, the time of submission and your consent choices. We use these to review applications, select two suitable businesses, respond to you and keep a record of the selection process. We use technical anti-spam information to protect the form. We process application information to consider the opportunity you have requested and for our legitimate interests in running a fair selection process. We use your contact permission to communicate about your application.

If you contact us through another form, we use the details you give us to respond to your enquiry.

Marketing and case studies

The optional marketing checkbox is separate from applying. We will not add applicants to marketing communications unless they actively opt in, and they can ask to stop at any time. Agreeing to be considered for a potential case study does not mean we will publish your application: any project, usage and materials will be agreed with selected businesses before work begins.

Storage and sharing

Applications are stored in a restricted database and made available to authorised Gro-Star reviewers. Application details are also sent to Suzi by email, and an acknowledgement is sent to the address you provide. Our website, database and email service providers process information on our behalf. We do not publish applications or sell applicant details.

How long we keep it

We keep application records for as long as necessary to review the campaign, follow up where appropriate and maintain relevant business records. You may ask us to delete your information when it is no longer needed, subject to legal or legitimate record-keeping requirements.

Your choices and rights

You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, object to or restrict some processing, or withdraw optional marketing consent by emailing suzi@gro-star.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled.
